Highlighting water Quality and efforts to make a difference
Join us on for the premier NYC Oyster Swim as we take on the waters surrounding Governors Island, NYC to raise awareness of local water quality and the work being done to address it.
The swim will start from an NYC Water Taxi, with an epic view of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, and will proceed along the shoreline, ending at the Pier 101 home of Billion Oyster Project – an organization dedicated to improving NYC’s waterways through oyster seeding and cultivation, and stewards of the Community Water Quality Testing Program.
NOTE: This is an advanced open water swim, for experienced open water swimmers only.

This program – initially organized by Nancy Brous and Rob Buchanan via the New York City Water Trail Association – is the focus of our awareness building and fundraising efforts.
